Along with the, “X.”

In chapters 5-8 there was something that really surprised me! That was that the WHOLE class was sitting together, and everybody got along! I had to read it over because I couldn’t believe what I was reading!

In chapters 5-8 there was a lot of surprising parts. Now here is my re-telling for these few chapters. The next day the kids walked into the classroom and everything was perfectly normal. Until the students saw, “STRENGTH THROUGH DISCIPLINE,” on the board. .

After all of the explaining he got them to make sure that they alway have a good posture in and out of school! He got them to get out of their desks and walk into the hall. When he told them to get back to their desks, they had to go back to their desks as fast as they could. The first time they tried Mr. Ross thought it was very disorganized. There first crack at it, it took the class took forty-eight seconds. The second time around Mr. Ross told them to  line up with the people who sit farthest away to go first so they could get in their desks more organized and way faster! This try took only 16 seconds!

The next day Mr. Ross gave them another rule and a new line to go with their, “STRENGTH THROUGH DISCIPLINE.” The new rule was to salute only to the people taking place in their, “WAVE.”

The next day Mr. Ross gave them these cards. The cards were invitations to the wave. If you had a red, “X,” on the back of your card you were a Monitor. The only two people to have X’s on the back of their cards were Brian and Robert.

After class, the whole class went to the cafeteria and all sat together! they were all talking about the wave even Robert started to say a few things!

RESPONSE:

In chapters 5-8 something really surprised the WHOLE class sat together! I thought that was the last thing on earth to happen, because Robert I thought would never talk to them or get out of his bubble but he did! Now that I think of it I think that Robert will eventually be the head of the Wave! I just have a feeling! But you never know!

In the next chapters I think that Mr.Ross will get way out of control and get the class involved, in something that they wished never would have happened! In the end I think that everything will turn out good! Hopefully anyways!

I better start reading so I can tell what is going to happen next!

The class that went to far!

In chapters 1-4 there was a lot of emotion on how the Nazis were very bad people! I LOVE how this is a story based on events that happened in real life.

In chapters 1-4 there was a girl named Laurie Saunders. She has a boy friend named David and a best friend named Amy. Laurie loves to chew on the back of pens and pencils! She doesn’t have one pen or pencil that has not been chewed on.

In Laurie’s history class they were watching a movie on the Nazis and how they were putting Jews in rooms then spilling gas in the rooms, and the concentration camp they put Jews in also. Her history teacher Mr.Ross told her and her class about the mad man Adolf Hitler. Hitler was the one telling the Nazis to do all of the bad stuff to the Jews. Hitler was a house painter and then turned to politics after World War One.

After the movie was done class was over. The class was quiet with emotion. Almost everybody left after class but some people stayed a while. Laurie was one of them. This strange boy named Robert Billing who would always fall  asleep in class stayed also. Laurie could not get that picture of the horrid out of her mind.

I could not imagine what it would be like to see the Nazis in action. I think I would be really scared!

In my response I am going to tell you about the beginning of books.  For me I like  the  beginning of books to be really fast going I don’t like it to be very slow and talk about the same thing for 10 chapters. I like it to move along, and talk about different things every 7 pages or so. In this book that’s how I think it rolls. I don’t think it is a very slow rolling book.

I am also going to tell you about my favorite part so far. My favorite part so far was when there teacher was teaching the students about the Nazis and how they were so emotional I like how they get it was wrong, and I like how they get that they shouldn’t have been doing that. I like how the book is based on a true story and actually happened in real life! It’s cool learning the experiences that people experienced, “back in the day.”

No wonder!

When I first started to write posts about Football.  I thought I was writing about the tackling kind of football.  Until I read more into into it.  Once I found more about what type of football they were talking about, Football in some palces is another name for soccer. I felt really dumb after I found that out!  I thought that some website information sounded a little bit like soccer!  No wonder.

The most popular name I found when I searched football on google was the Indonesia football team. The first game that was recorded was in March 28th, 1921.  It was against Indonesia and Singapore.

The AFF cup was a big step for the Indonesia football team! They were so happy when they won the cup! Wouldn’t you be happy?

The coaches name for the Indonesia football team is Alfred Riedl.  The Captain of the Indonesia team is Firman Utina.  There home stadium is called the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.  The best person known to get the most goals on the Indonesia football team is Bambang Pamungkas.

The life behind Liesel!

The book thief is an interesting book!  I read this book Monday to Friday everyday, around 10:30am with another class in Wingham, Ontario.  Even though we are 2700km apart we still make it work.  We talk and listen to the book thief through Skype!

The main character in this book is a 10-12 old girl named Liesel.  Liesel lives in Molching, Germany, on Himmel street.  She has a lot of different things that happen to her in the book.  For example….

#1. Her brother had died. He had died in a train because he was sick.  His name was Werner.

#2. She has a friend named Rudy Steiner, and he likes Liesel.  Early in the book Rudy always tries to kiss her.  Rudy is a big fan of Jesse Owens.  She has another friend named Max.  Max is a Jew and where she lives the Nazi’s find Jews and kill them.  So that is why Max was hiding in Liesel’s basement.  Until Max had ran away.  I wonder where h could be?

#3. Liesel just was put in a Foster home.  She was put there because her mom couldn’t keep her anymore.  After Liesel went to a foster home she never heard from her mom again!  Her foster mothers name is Rosa  Hubermann, and her foster fathers name is Hans Hubermann.  Hans walks really straight and he rolls his own cigarettes.  He had shown Liesel how too.

#4. Liesel steals.  Leisel had stolen books from the mayor of Molchings wife! I can’t believe she had done that!

There is many conflicts in this book involving Liesel! Way to many to list!  I wonder what Leisel is going to do next.

Ai Weiwei’s

After a second day of demolition little is left of artist Ai Weiwei‘s Shanghai studio.

According to some websites it says in almost these exact words that this is what had happened.  I am not agreeing to some of the stuff they said but everybody has there own opinions. Here is somethings people had to say!

“Weiwei claimed that he originally had permission to build the studio, but later officials ordered it to be destroyed.”

“The 53-year-old, one of China’s most famous and controversial artists, said that the demolition started on the night of Tuesday, January, 11th.  Work crews arrived early Tuesday to demolish the studio.  Ai, who was in Beijing, flew down to Shanghai as soon as he was alerted.  Both the structure and a neighbouring studio he designed for a friend were brought down by 9 p.m. local time that day.”

Weiwei is best known for his design for the Beijing Olympic stadium, “the Bird’s Nest”.

“After the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, he used his celebrity to assemble volunteers in the disaster area who controversially compiled a list of children who died in the disaster.”

“The project was based on drawing attention to structural problems with several schools destroyed in the earthquake.”

“Twenty schools had collapsed killing over 5,000 children, all of which had buildings next to them that remained standing.”

“For his efforts, he was arrested, beaten and prevented from testifying at the trial of another activist charged with inciting the subversion of state power.”

Now this are now in my words of what I think. I think that he was a great artist!  He had some fantastic pieces of art! I would never be able to think of th ideas that he had and did!  They were unbelievable!  It would take me like a century to think of things like that!  This was a very hard post to write because there is not a lot of information on it.  If there is then I can’t understand it because it’s either in a different language or I can’t understand the very scientific words.  Remember I am only in grade 7!

To the readers that are reading this do you think that overall this whole thing turned out o.k?

Or do you think this is absolutely in the wrong?

The football game in Indonesia!

The Indonesian National Team was defeated in the second game of the championship match against Malaysia’s football team. Despite the 2-1  the Malaysian team won through perfect goals.

The ASEAN Football Federation Cup finals were between Indonesia and Malaysia.

The ASEAN Football Federation Cup generated an online buzz especially during the championship game between Malaysia and Indonesia.

On Boxing Day, at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, Malaysia won the first leg match 3-0 against Indonesia.

Since the start of the AFF Cup, the Indonesian team has managed to pull together nationalism, and by what I have see on the news a lot of media attention!

Central Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Hamidin said two scalpers had been beaten up by angry fans outside the stadium. 3,000 police officers were deployed for the match, which was attended by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and several top officials.

This was a cool experience for me to learn about this. I thought that this was like tackling football. But it’s not so I had to do a little research on this type of football. It is actually quite interesting!

Hope the readers that are reading this check out my other post and maybe even leave me a comment!

Remix

In class my teacher Mr.Fisher got us to make a remix of the Martin Neimoller poem. Here is my version of it…

First they yelled for the religious people,
and I did not speak out-
because I was not a religious person.

Then they yelled out for the gamers,
and I did not speak out-
bec
ause I was not a gamer.

Then they yelled for the poorly dressed,
and I did not speak out-
because I was not poorly dressed.

So that’s my remix for the Martin Neimoller Poem. I think Martin did a good job writing this poem.

The Mayor is my teacher.

Hey. As all of you readers might have heard that Mr.Fisher is the new mayor of Snow Lake. It is pretty cool. I remember one of Snow Lakes past Mayors, Mr. Zamzow. He is a nice man. Just like Mr.Fisher. Mr.Fisher grew up here in Snow Lake. He says ” Snow Lake has change throughout the years.” I bet it has!. Mr.Fisher was born here. But no one can have babies here anymore. The old hospital is now a daycare.

I think Mr.Fisher will be a good mayor!

The “Book Thief.” Part 1 (Good Book)

                 Himmel=Heaven

In class we are reading a book called the “Book Thief.” We are reading ”Book Thief”  over Skype with another class in Wingham, Ontario. They have a teacher named Mrs. Durnin. She seems very kind. They have a total of 22 kids between grades 7 and 8.  They have the same amount of kids in their class, as we have in my class which is grades 7 and 8.

The main character in this book is a 10-year-old girl named Liesel Maminger. She lives in Molching, Germany, on Himmel street. She has a hard life. Her brother had died in a train, because he was really ill!  Her brother’s name was Werner. The person that had been digging her brothers grave had a hand book in his pocket well digging the grave, and it had slipped out of his pocket and she took it. She never knew how to read until a week or so after that. Her foster-father started showing her how too read and write. For paper she started using sandpaper then after she started to run out, she was painting on the wall. After all of that learning she started to read the grave diggers handbook. Liesel just started to bath regularly. She has a friend named Rudy Steiner, and he likes Liesel. Liesel just was put in a Foster home. Her foster mothers name is Rosa  Hubermann, and her foster fathers name is Hans Hubermann. Rosa is very rude to Liesel, and her face is like creased-up cardboard. She hits Liesel with wooden spoons. Hans walks really straight and he rolls his own cigarettes. He had shown Liesel how too. Liesel sometimes plays soccer with her friends. Liesel usually was the goalie. I would not like to have a life-like Liesel. I am thankful I don’t.

In the “Book Thief” there is another main character and his name is Rudy Steiner. He likes Liesel. He lives in Molching, Germany, on Himmel street. He is good friends with Liesel. Rudy really likes girls. Rudy is a big fan of Jesse Owens. He dressed up like Jesse Owens, by putting charcoal all over his body. In the book Rudy is actually really nice and sometimes really funny!

Next I am going to tell you about Alex Steiner. This is Rudy’s father. He is a Taylor. Alex is part of the Nazi. He is a part of the Nazi party only because it is good for his business. That’s the only reason why he had joined the Nazi Party.

Part one was really good. At the beginning it doesn’t really make sense. But once you start getting more in it. It makes more sense.
